Lorraine Vita (nee Cook) age 81
The daughter of the late Frank & Catherine Cook (nee Kelly) passed away November 6, 2025. She is the beloved wife of Joseph Vita Sr. Mother of Joseph Jr. aka “Jobe” Vita (Sharon) and Nicholas Vita (Jamie). Grandmother of Michael, Alexis, Jared and Ethan. Great- grandmother of Greyson. Sister of Edward Cook, Lynne Devlin, Sharon Handzus, Michael Cook, Barbara Williams and the late Carol Olszewski, Frank Cook, Katharine Long, Robert, Donald, Richard, Ronald Cook.
The beach was her happy place — she loved the shore, where the sound of the waves and the salt in the air always brought her peace. Some of our fondest memories are of her by the water, or feeding the ducks with her grandchildren on the lagoon every summer. She was filled with love and laughter, always ready with a story to tell, a smile to share, and an embrace that made everything better.
Her greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She was endlessly proud of each of us, and we will forever cherish the lessons, laughter, and warmth she brought into our lives.
Her love was a steady current that will continue to guide and comfort us, just like the tide she loved so much. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in every wave, every laugh, and every story shared in her memory.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing, Wed. November 12, 2025 (9AM to 10:30AM) at St. John the Baptist Church – 119 Rector Street, Philadelphia PA 19127.
