Joanne P. McGreal “Joanna” (age 81) of Havertown, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away January 25, 2024 at her long-time residence of Westgate Hills Nursing Home.
She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Decker, her sister Stella Carr, her sister-in-law Phyllis Owad, her grandchildren Crystal, James, and Steven, her great-grandchildren Amber, Alyssa, Acacius, and Cameron, and her great-great grandchildren Kaden and Cordae. She was preceded in death by her husband James V. McGreal, her son James A. McGreal, her brother Gregory Owad, her sister Jean Owad, her brother-in-law Thomas Carr, her life-long friends Joe Phillips and Pat Paczkoski, and her great-grandson Ezra. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Joanne was born on April 28, 1942 in Philadelphia to the late Stanley and Lottie (nee Cmiel) Owad. She attended St. Francis Xavier School in Fairmount. She was employed by Hahnemann University Hospital cardiologists Dr. William Likoff and Dr. Bernard Segal before becoming a full-time homemaker where she enjoyed cooking, baking, vacationing in Wildwood, and special celebrations.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Anastasia Roman Catholic Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA.
Interment will take place in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Rd., Springfield, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters, 2212 Green Street, Philadelphia, PA 19130.

My heart is completed shattered as one who brought so much joy understanding and love into my life has transcended into her next life as true love never dies and our souls continue to soar wherever they are needed I find great peace in knowing there is Nan is with our lord and savior Jesus Christ
