Mark Breitag, the son of the late Theodore and Doris Breitag, passed on from this life June 18th, 2022.
The middle brother of Tim and Ted Breitag, he took great pride in his Michigan roots. After marrying Valerie, they had two children Jeremy Breitag (Ashley Breitag) and Rachel Hanley (Miles Hanley). Shortly after the birth of their children, Mark’s work took them to Levittown Pennsylvania. He worked for James River Paper Corporation for 3 decades. In his retirement he was blessed with 6 grandchildren Mariah Breitag, Melody Breitag, Maci Breitag, Maysen Breitag, Breitley Hanley, and Bolden Hanley.
Mark enlisted in the Army out of high school. There, he was a MP dog handler. He was honorably discharged and fondly reminisced of his army buddies. Mark was an exceptional writer, reveling in his creative side. If you ever competitively watched Jeopardy with him, you’d surely lose. Reading books, analyzing films, and pondering life was what he did best. Mark always said his greatest achievement was his children who will carry his memory and legacy on.
Mark will rest at Washington Crossing Cemetery. The family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers of comfort. They invite any memories you’d like to share.
I grew up with Mark in what we called “The Hood”. Also known as Lakewood subdivision. It was a great place to grow up. We walked to elementary school, we had a couple of lakes, although small, and we could walk a short distance to a shopping center. Oh and can’t forget the cemetery right next to the hood. I always loved Mark and will always hold a place in my heart for him. God bless you all. May he RIP.
I remember Mark from Forsythe and Pioneer and my dad was his principal at Lakewood, so I would see him at some of the Lakewood events too. I didn’t know him super well, yet my heart really sank when I heard of his passing. He was special guy and I was glad to read about his life after high school.
I’m so sorry for his family and friends.
