Phyllis Young Smith (1947-2021)
Phyllis Veronica Smith (née Young) passed away on the morning of July 19th, 2021. The beloved mother of Claudia Bowen and Chris Roberson, sister of Alton Young, Mother-in-law to Henock Berhanu, and grandmother of Caleb Henock-Berhanu, and Christian Henock-Berhanu, she is missed and will be remembered by both her family and the host of dear friends she has made over the years.
A memorial and celebration of life is planned at the Guckin Funeral Mansion on Thursday August 5th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to attend and share their memories and stories of Phyllis’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Phyllis’s honor to the Disparities Solutions Center, which is dedicated to promoting high quality healthcare for all patients, regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, and language.
Phyllis’ family would like to extend gratitude to everyone in her life who offered their love and support and comfort in her last days.
