Thomas “Norman” Kelly

Thomas “Norman” Kelly, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 following a brief illness. Thomas was born on March 27, 1922 to William and Elizabeth in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II and was a POW in Germany for 6 months.

Thomas was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Thomas married Margaret McQuillan (deceased) on January 10, 1948. He is survived by his 5 children Tom, Maureen, Jerry, Betsy Kostick (Mike), and Joe, and his sister Harriet O’Leary. In addition, he will be missed by his grandchildren Julie Elliott (Daniel), Daniel (Allie), Katie Niemic (Mike), Kimberly, Andrew (Jasmine), Thomas (Erin), Marian, Hayden, Stephen (Kelly), Andrew (Emily), and Patrick. His great-grandchildren, Danielle, Abigail, Jacob, Landon, Brandon, Zachary, Olivia, Zoey, Karli, Nicholas, and Henry, will also miss him dearly.

Thomas was a member of Ascension of Our Lord Parish and, upon its closing, a member of St. Matthew. He loved going to the shore and enjoyed watching old westerns, baseball, he loved the Phillies, and football – especially the Eagles (because he lived here) and the Packers (because they were really his favorite team). He loved spending time with his family and will be remembered for his unconditional love, patience and kindness, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Tom’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday 9:15 AM at St. Matthews (Upper) church.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:30AM.

Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
